Project X
MIT Media Lab, 2022

Project X was developed as a final project for Neil Gershenfeld's “How to Make (Almost) Anything” course at the MIT Media Lab. The product is a meter-wide LED sculpture composed of over 500 addressable lights, a custom PCB, and a bespoke acrylic casing. It was designed as a light fixture for electronic music events, enabling the visual representation of musical experiences. Project X leverages ArtNet technology to connect wirelessly to popular mapping software including TouchDesigner and Resolume Arena.

The project combines techniques including electronic design, embedded programming (C++), 3d CAD, interface design, laser-cutting, 3d printing, output device management and wireless interface design.
